Damp room 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi,

Ive been watching your youtube videos and they are excellent. Please keep them comming!

I have one problem though and that is damp. In my bedroom I have this black stuff growing on the walls, don't really know what it is. I keep my windows closed because insects keep coming in and sealed of the vent because we had some crazy insects getting again. How can I stop this damp from spreading?

First, thank you very very much. It means alot to hear that. I do try, as time goes on it becomes easier to get in front of the camera. Any tips on what kind of new videos will be helpful.

The black stuff can be one of two things, one mold which is bad, or bug poop. But it really seams that you have the mold because of the damp. A humidifier would help with the dampness. But why is this room damp is a better question. Is this room in a basement maybe ? If you can provide me with more detail on this room would be great. Your insects could be coming from nest, so in that case you should bomb the room with one of those insect bombs.

As far as removing the mold if it is mold, I would suggest adding some bleach to a bucket of water and washing down the room, even in areas that you don't see any...

No Problemo

The room is on the first floor. The walls are usually alittle wet in the mornings (once woken from sleep). The room is quite small too. And the walls have no paper on them. They are quite rough actually. Do you think using water resistant paper would prevent the spread of the mold?

I think what you want to do is clean the walls like I said before and use a mold resistant paint.

What are the walls made of ? where in the world are you, This seems very strange for your walls to be that wet unless they are made of block or concrete. If you like you can also post a picture here.

I live in UK - The walls are made out of concrete. I think the mold resistant paint is the best way of resolving this one.

As a side issue, I plan on renovating my bathroom, I want to install tiles. Is it ok if you could create a video demonstrating how ?

The concrete is it then, LOL. A dehumidifier would also help you out.

You asked and you shall receive, I will make a video on installing tile as soon as I can. I'm trying to come up with ideas of what videos my users would want to see. Thanks for all your input.

regards... Dominick
