TOPIC: Interior door will not stay open
#576
Interior door will not stay open 1 Month ago
I have an interior door that once open, slowly closes. It is annoying.
What should I adjust so it will stay open when I open it (besides by a door stop)

Thanks for your help

Hi, the problem with your door is that it's out of level. So chances are the top of the door is leaning out. Of course the best way would be to reset the door, but will require removing the whole door and trim.

Make sure that the hinges are tight and that seated in there pocket.(grove). If the floor isn't a carpet you can try this.. Get a small piece of carpet about 2 inc by 4 inch, fold it twice and stick it under the door thick enough to make contact with the door and floor, but of course not too stiff. The friction should be enough to slow it down and hold it there...
