IN MY KITCHEN THE SOFET HAD POPCORN TEXTURE ON IT I HAVE REMOVED IT AND NOW WANT TO PERPAIR IT FOR PAINTING WHAT DO I NEED TO DO???I AM ASSUMING THAT IF WILL NEED SOME TYPE OF TEXTURE BEFORE I PAINT AND THE METAL STRIPS AND THE EDGES HOW DO YOU TREAT THEM??? I FEEL THAT I CAN DO THIS BUT NEED SOME INFORMATION ON HOW?????

this is not a cut and dry question. It really all depends on the condition of the sheet rock.. I would say with seeing it, put a coat or two of joint compound (spackle) on it, light sand and paint. You can post a picture of it here if you like. The metal edges you have are a corner bead and will require the same treatment as the walls. They are just a strong metal edge to help prevent damage to the corners..
