I'm assuming that you are talking about a exterior door ? Some thresholds are adjustable, up and down. This way you can adjust just the right height. If you have a wood door then you can just trim the bottom of the door and be done. If your door a metal one, then this may no be so possible. Why did you need to install a new threshold ? I would assume because of the seal, in that case you mite be better off just replacing the seal of the old threshold. If you post a picture of it here or email it to me perhaps I can help you better as a picture is worth a 1000 words..

[/img] [/img][/img][/img] I recently put in a hardwood floor and the was a 1/4 inch gap between the floor and the door. The threshold is not an adjustable one pics being sent.

Being that the door is a interior wood door I have to wonder why is there a threshold, one unless the house is old, by the pictures I would guess the house was built around 1965 maybe. But a threshold means it was built before the 50's. At least it looks like a wood interior door by the pictures.

Anyway
cool deal, all you have to do is remove the door trim the bottom a little bit using a straight edge and a circular saw. Reinstall door and done. piece of cake. I will be making a video on this very soon.

You welcome so much. What you want to do is subscribe to my news letter on the left menu, and you will be notified automatically when I post a new video.

OK as far as your new pictures go, it's kind of hard to see what kid of threshold you have but it looks like the adjustable one. Look for brown caps which has a screw driver slot in it. These are just caps covering screws that adjust the up and down of the threshold. If these are there great, if not you will have to trim the door. My new video will be a solid wood interior door, but all the same. Except you would not want to cut to much out as you want it very close to the threshold for sealing purposes.

Chances are that your door is a solid one. When you remove it you will be able to tell. If it's real heaving then it's a solid one. But all and all it will get trimmed the same way as any other door. And yes I know that it's the silver threshold.
