Hi there,
I originally asked you a question on youtube as "tod99cj" yesterday and I had a few more questions for you. This is a great site, by the way!
Since it's Thanksgiving weekend and all the stores are having great deals, I'm probably going to be buying the glueless wood laminate click flooring from lowes. It is 77 cents a sq ft, and I know you said that you shouldn't buy the cheapest stuff, but my budget won't allow anything else. In fact I've been waiting for a sale like this so I can cover my ugly linoleum!
I will be installing the
floor in my foyer and my kitchen. My kitchen is about 15X10 and my foyer is about 8X6, with a closet. I will need a saw right? A miter saw, or a circular saw? I am a new homeowner and the only tool I have is a table saw, and I'm assuming this won't work. I'm hoping you'll tell me otherwise! Is it ok to install this directly over my existing vinyl as long as I clean it really well? It is slab underneath the vinyl. What type of underlayment should I get? I'm also very confused about the edges, particularly under my front door and also in front of the cabinets. My house is 6 years old and I'm pretty sure they laid the vinyl then installed the cabinets, so I don't have 1/4 round anywhere. Will I have to install it in front of my cabinets now?
Sorry, I know that's a lot questions...
Thanks!!!
Jill
