Sheetrock, oh yes it makes a mess.

Yup, if your doing sheetrock work plan on making a mess. No matter how clean you think you are you will make a mess.

The tools you need to install sheetrock are:

Sharp utility knife (sheetrock knife)

Sheetrock sqaure (looks like a big T) four foot long.

Screw gun with screws or a dry wall hammer.

Tape meassure.

After you get your meassurement, mark the sheetrock and with the T sqaure mark the a staight line for the whole cut. Still keeping the sqaure in place, place your knife against the sqaure at a 45 degree angle and cut straight down.....

now your left with a straight cut but of course it's still in one piece. So now go around to the back side and with one hand placed near the back side of the cut you just made and the other hand on the end of the board, use the shorter end. And now just push away with the cut end while pulling on the end. SNAP it goes, now you will see that the only thing holding the Sheetrock together is the paper. Just cut this paper and your done. Try not to tear the paper, you want nice clean cuts, you don't want to remove any of the paper off the rock it self. This will make it way to weak.

Look at the cut edge for any protruding pieces, if so you can use a Sheetrock rasp, or simply cut them off with your knife

Sheet rock that I use comes in lengths of 8, 10, 12, 14 and 18 foot long. By 4 feet wide. And trust me the bigger they are the heavier they are. For the most part you will only find up to 12 feet long at Home Depot. Always use a sharp good razor blade.

  • Always use a T square when cutting
  • Cut slow but to slow, keep your fingers far away, trust me. LOL
  • Cut the side that faces out, then snap it.
  • Once snaped, now the paper is the only thing holding it together. Now cut the outher side. Bam, now you have you size.
  • If installing on a wall, always install the top peace first. Hold it nice and tight to the top while having someone put a few nails in first.

More to come very soon. Video also coming
