toolsinbackground.jpegWell lets talk about the quality of a tool. As a contractor I'm forced to

buy the best money can buy. I need years of performance worth.

Circular Saw

Lets say I need to go buy a circular saw. I need one that can stand up from being dropped, smashed

and still work and work well. And this is for every day use. But on the other hand, if you just

working on your house, once in awhile, buying that saw for 39.00 is fine. Sure I would kill this

saw in a day. But your not cutting a seven hundred 2x6's a day either. So you see the

big difference is how we use it. I mean sure there is a difference in quality as well. But the saw I

buy also cost about 179.00

People have asked me this before, well isn't it the saw that makes  the straight cut. LOL, no not

really, before the saw can cut it straight the user needs to know how do. In other words practice

can make anyone a pro.

Screw drivers

Now this is where it's important. Lets sum it up like this. EVER SLIP or strip out a screw before.

Don't worry we all have. That's why it's important to use a good screw driver. By good I mean,

spend some money, don't just buy a set because it looks nice with some nice color. Snap on

tools by far make the best ones. And they are a all black handle. But you wont find them in the

local Home Depot. I also like Fuller, Stanly, Husky and Sears.

Hammers

Hammers, well what do you plan on doing with it. I use a Irwin hammer for my every day use.

Cost about $40. dollars or so. I would never advise anyone of going to cheap with a hammer.

Tape Measures

This has to be the one I'm asked the most. Hey Dominick, what brand tape measure do you use. I use to say, only buy the best money can buy. However a few years back I walked into

a supply house I deal with and they had a box of cheap taps for sale at the counter. Now

my oldest kid was in wood shop at school and as a requirement he was to have a tape of his own

in class. Right, you got it, not one of dads good ones. Well long story short these cheap ones

out last my expensive ones. So buy the one that you like. But 25 foot is a good start.
