How to use a jig saw. The most important thig to know is always go slow. When making turns, go even slower. Choose the blade for what your cutting.
Try cutting a piece of scrap wood until you get more comfortable with your jig saw. One thing to know is that the skinner the blade is the easier to make those tight turns will be. Once you go to the store and see all the different ones you will know what I mean by this. Easy, what are you cutting ! Cutting wood use a wood blade, right LOL. Ok now how many teeth are on the blade, the more teeth the finer the cut. The less teeth the rougher the cut and also the faster the saw will cut. However these type of blades will also leave the wood all splintery looking that will need to be sanded.
But lets say if you were cutting thin plywood, then you would use a finer (more teeth) blade. Also remember the base, this is the flat part the lays flat on your work surface should never come up, always try to keep it flat againts your work surface.
