Let me start by telling you a little about of the three most common types of trim you will working with.
First we have the pine trim.

 

 

 

 

Pine trim is either painted or stained. # 2 trim has knots and may not be the best looking, but just as straight as # 1 trim.
You pay out the nose for # 1 which will have little to no knots, so plan ahead if your going to use stain or paint. And then we have Cardboard (MDF)
Lets just say as a contractor that someone is paying me to make a near perfect job I wont use it. Yup you guessed it, it’s cheaper and you do get what you pay for.

Oh YES….. Plastic junk molded into something that looks like trim, please save your wife the screaming and yelling and don’t buy it..
