I just put a new hot water heater in and it smells like rotten eggs so bad that when I take a shower after I am done I smell like rotten eggs so what will be my best solution to fixing this problem? Can I just take out the anode rod all together then cap it?

Well did you have that smell before you changed the heater? Removing the rod would just make things worst.
