How damaging to the plants is the roof sparkle method with the pool shock?
My other question is, if my roof is already clean, what is the ratio I could use to keep it clean instead of the 1 gallon of pool shock to 2 gallons of water?

How damaging! Total really. But wet them down first and then rinse. Cover them if you can like we do.
If your roof is clean already. I would say you could do 1 part SH to 4 parts H2O
