Can I flip my cedar shakes siding?

I have cedar shakes siding that has been painted a thousand times and the weather here is so extreme it will not scrape off for love nor money.
So I wondered if I can pry them all off and turn them over?
The back doesn’t have the textured pattern but it will allow me to repaint the house.
Does the main side have a treatment on it that won’t be on the back and could cause them to rot or damage?

    The hardest part for you will be to remove them without damaging them. And no, they are not treated. Cedar is all-natural.
