Im replacing an older 220 v stove top. 3 wires come out the wall black, red, ground
The replacing stove top is 220 v 4 wires,black, white, red and ground.
Do I wire red to red ,ground to ground and black to black? What do l do with white wire?

Please briefly explain why you feel this answer should be reported.
The white wire is neutral and is very important. Do you need it work! well, that would depend on your unit. I would just replace the wire.
