DIY Table / Magnet for Legs?

I have a table top and want to attach legs to make a coffee or dining table. I’m planning on buying legs from a site like Etsy, or something similar. The table top is fairly thin (about 1 inch) and I’m not great with power tools. Would it work (and be stable) if I glue a magnet onto the top of the leg and underside of the table?

    No not really. You’ll need a much better way to secure the legs.  Besides having a top at 1″ is kinda thin for that.
