Is there a reason fridges need their own 20 amp circuit?
I brew beer and use 2 separate fridges to regulate fermentation temps of 65f. These fridges will not run all the time like a typical fridge but may see more action during the warmer months in Atlanta. Is there a reason they could not be plugged into a single 20 amp circuit?

I would recommend one, yes, but not required by code at this time. Any new house or kitchen wiring I always put a fridge on its own 20 amp. You just never know.
Another reason I always do this is because if later on you wanted to install a transfer switch for a generator it makes things a lot easier.
