Hello, I just bought a rundown 4 room home. It’s December and there is no furnace or baseboard heat. I don’t have two pennies to pinch but I do have a dryer and an old double pole thermostat. The dryer doesn’t have a plate with the wattage draw. So with the old thermostat rated for 25 amps do u think the draw from the dryer would burn the thermostat before the 30 amp breaker turns. I have enough 10/3 and parts to centralize the thermostat. And I don’t want to freeze. Any advice on whether it will handle the load?

That could be an issue. Just use electric heaters I would say.
