How do I go about removing a popcorn ceiling that is painted with simi-gloss or high gloss paint. Thank you.

This is always a hard question to answer. Some will come right off with a scraper and others are near impossible to remove.
Just start with a scraper, trying not to dig into the sheetrock and start scraping.
