zero volts on neutral wireReport

As I understand it, the hot wire’s current is “pushed” by 120 volts from the power company. So what “pushes” the current back to the power company on the return neutral wire, since it contains zero volts?

The neutral is the return path, period. This way to hard to explain in one email sitting.
