Oh yeah, I never said it was going to be easy. I mean, for the most part, it is. However, the older your valve is the harder it MAY be harder to come apart.

Taking things apart.

Depending on your setup it should be pretty much the same. Removing the handles can sometimes be the most channeling part to remove. Just pull and wiggle and they should pop loose after some pulling. Don’t forget to remove the center screw first. You can also try spraying a little W-D40 in the screw hole to help it along.

Removing the tubes.

It’s not like these tubes can’t come out or won’t. Simply said, they just don’t like to come out. So a little help is what you’ll need to do.

Removing the stems

Removing the stems is not all that bad. The most important part here is to make sure you have a good bite on it before turning the wrench counterclockwise.

Replacing the seals

Ok, so the seal is the easy part to replace, right! ok, maybe not that easy. It’s only held in place with one simple little screw. It’s a brass screw, screwed into brass. Easy enough, right? Well, don’t forget it’s been there a long time. I like to put a lot of pressure on the screw while removing it. And do make sure you use a good screwdriver and not some cheap one.
