Hi Dom just wanted to ask you, when running wire from the basement to my attached garage for a 240 volt outlet what wire size would be best? My breaker is a 40 amp federal and the garage would be around about 30 to 40 feet away from the main..

  • Being that it’s 220 and 40 amp I would install a small sub panel. However #10 or #8 wire would be what you want to use. #8 if longer than 40 feet.
