Just wondering i have an electric kiln for heat treating and it is rated for 25 amps jillina240 VAC. It has 4 elements that have separate switches for each element. If i only switch on 2 out of the four elements, it will be drawing less current then 25 amps?? The reason i ask is i’m trying to select the proper size solid state relay for the controller on the kiln. I was told the relay’s get very hot and tend blow before the breaker does when it fails. I am waiting for an electrician to come in and wire everything up for me.
Thanks
Wes

Without seeing it, I would say that the 25 amps should be at it’s maxed load. That would be with everything on high.
