Hey Dominick-
After I built up the mortar base 1 1/2″ outside edge to 1 ” at drain and then added my liner, my curb height from inside the shower is 2 1/2 inches and outside is 4 1/2 inches.
I’m getting ready to add the final layer on top of the membrane and was targeting the 1 1/2″ on the outside layer that you reference in your video, but i’m afraid that will be too close (1 inch) to the top of the inside of my curb. I will have the 1/4″ for hardybacker and 3/4 ” marble cap as well.

Yes that’s fine. You could add an extra layer of tile board on top of the curb if you like.
