Thank you, Dominick for answering my question. I did not think about the walls. This is an old house and I will be learning about carpentry . Will try to send you some pictures.

Down to the floor joist I assume. The hardest thing with this would be the walls because the walls are built on top of the subfloor. So you’ll have to cut the subfloor at the walls. Post a picture if you want.
