how can I make the inset for the mirror part of a hand held mirror. I have a router and thought I could do it free hand but it is not very good, I need a more professional looking job. is there a simple way of making a jig. and if I had a jig would I be able to do it myself. I do not have much experience with a router. any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks Val

A jig would work good. However making one will require more hard work. After you have the hole for the mirror cut out you would use a router with a inset bit with a bearing on it. The bearing will ride against the hole you cut out. So make sure it’s nice and clean. Something like the picture I’ve included.
