Steel tub wont budge

I’m trying to remove and replace an old steel American Standard tub. It’s the kind of model that is supposed to hang off the 3 walls but after removing the tile and backer board I can see there are no stringers or nails in the flange. The drain is disconnected and the thing just won’t move a bit when it’s yanked on…My guess was maybe its in mortar bed and if so, how do I remove it if it’s stuck in mortar?

Hi, just sounds like a cast iron bathtub. And that case you may have a few cleats under the outside rim. So you will have to reach in, grab the edge and pull up and towards you. Remember this tub weighs in at 300 lbs.
