Installing a Eljen Septic System
It’s so easy, keep it level and you can do it.
Just the name sounds complicated. But it’s not. Actually, it can be easier for those who don’t to do septics system everyday.
Oh so here’s the deal. You start by knowing how deep to start digging the highest field first. Why the highest one first, because from there ever thing runs down hill.
You’ll want to dig all fields as level as can be. But wait, this is just the rough cut. So it doesn’t need to be 100% perfect, close is good.
Once the field is dug you’ll install 6 inches of spelical sand. By the way this field is at least 48 inches wide. With the sand you can make easy adjustments to make this lateral as level as can be. They call this 0 level. Which means level.
Once the sand is level you would place your Ejen mats right on the sand and next to each other with the white mark up. Double-check for level.
Now you would install your SCR aka green pipe with the holes facing down at 4 and 8 O’clock. Double-check for level. Trust me, you always want to check for level.
When you purchased your Ejen system you shouldv’e received a mesh, looks like landscape fabric. But it’s very special to the Eljen system. This fabric goes right over the pipe and mats. And evenly along the sides.
Once all this is in place you’ll need to install that septic sand along the sides, approx 6 inches wide even with the top of the mats.
Now don’t forget to follow your septic plan.
